For the last 12-ish years, this has been the tagline of MMP.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a video on social media where I shared a story about my beloved friend who, at 90 years old, reminded me of this very truth. As we sifted through boxes of old photos, stories came rolling out of him that I had never heard before. These photos sparked memories that were long buried by the busy years of life. I learned so much about my friend that day, simply because of a box of old photos.

You can see that original story here.

In my post, I said that I had a ton of photos on my phone that wouldn't be considered "shareable" but that were so important to me simply because they tell the story of who I am. They show what matters to me. They are these ordinary, everyday moments that are literally writing the story of my life.

And, while it may be odd for a professional photographer to say, it's actually these moments - even more than the beautifully curated galleries I work so hard to create for my clients - that tell the stories of who you are too.

And I want to celebrate them.

Each week, I'm going to post on social media an "everyday ordinary" moment that I am celebrating, starting with that photo I originally mentioned. Here I am with my 18 year old, head on my lap in the midst of laundry that wasn't put away, watching a movie together just a couple of weeks before he leaves for college. It's not fancy. It's not edited. It's raw, it's real, and gosh, I'm sure I will look back at it multiple times when he's gone and I'm missing him.

I would love for you to join me as we celebrate these ordinary moments. How amazing would it be to create a community who can envision our 90 year-old selves and recognize that it's not the filters and perfectly posed pictures that make our lives beautiful?

Follow me on Instagram and add your own everyday ordinary...that actually, as it writes your own unique story is so incredibly extraordinary.
