It was the most beautiful Sunday morning in Delafield at the Nelson home last weekend. The weather was behaving in that typical Wisconsin way where it teases you into believing that fall is just around the corner, but it's going to shock you again with temps close to the 90s only a few days later. Taryn and I took advantage of the autumn tease to photograph a day in the life of her girls in their stunning backyard garden.


Lifestyle sessions are some of my absolute favorites to photograph! (Scroll down to read my last blog entry and it'll make sense why!). There's really nothing posed or perfected in these sessions. It's just YOU. As you are, in all the normalcy and everydayness and beauty and magic that is already there for the taking. It's telling your actual story through photographs that can adorn your walls and line pages of an album for years to come.


This particular story includes jammies and sparkly cowgirl boots and a duck named Tulip who really was the star of the show. It's about a woman who is an incredible mama to three girls who are full of spunk and spice and all things ENERGY. It's her creativity and green thumb colliding as she creates a wonderland of nature that for sure will be core memories for these girls as they grow.
